Nichole Thompson

Nichole Thompson has been in love with vocal music since she was a small child. Throughout adolescence, she participated in anything involving vocal music she had access to: musicals, church choir, music camps, a christian rock band, solo performances, as well as religiously practicing her vocal technique. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education from Spring Arbor University studying under many teachers, including two respected music teachers in our community, Charles and Jackie Livesay. She also has worked as an intern teacher at Springport Public Schools and as a Home School Choir instructor through Jackson Area Home Educators.

In addition to teaching, she enjoys singing on the worship team at Radiant Church in Jackson, MI, volunteering to play piano and sing at Jackson Interfaith shelter, as well as writing and recording her first studio album. She sings professionally for establishments in the area, and runs a free songwriting group in Jackson for current and aspiring songwriters and musicians.

She appreciates multiple genres and enjoys helping students explore various vocal styles while also establishing the foundations of good technique. She believes performing music is a blessing, and is excited to share her knowledge with her students so they can create that joy for themselves and others.

When not singing, she is learning guitar, brushing up on piano or ukulele, or enjoying nights of board games with her husband, friends, and adorable Shiba Inu, Abby.
